Computational predictions, training activities and research workloads of the node are supported by two dedicated Linux compute clusters, operated by the Biocomputing Group and by the BioFolD laboratory respectively.
BioFolD cluster
biofold.org infrastructure
A Linux-based compute cluster hosted at the Department of Pharmacy and Biotechnology (FaBiT) that backs the BioFolD web servers and databases (e.g. the PhD-SNP/Meta-SNP/DrCancer family, K-Fold/K-Pro, SARA/SARA-Coffee, ThermoScan) listed on the Services page. It provides the storage and compute capacity for large-scale variant-effect and protein-stability scans, model training for the group's machine-learning predictors, and hosting of the public web interfaces reachable under biofold.org and its sub-domains (e.g. snps.biofold.org, folding.biofold.org, structure.biofold.org).
Biocomputing Group cluster
biocomp.unibo.it infrastructure
A dedicated Linux compute cluster supporting the Biocomputing Group's larger predictor portfolio, including BUSCA, DeepSig, CoCoNat, ISPRED4 and TPpred3 listed under biocomp.unibo.it/predictors.html. The cluster hosts the group's public web servers (on the biocomp.unibo.it domain and associated sub-domains, e.g. busca., deepsig., coconat., ispred4.biocomp.unibo.it) and provides the compute and storage resources used for training deep-learning models, running genome/proteome-scale annotation jobs, and supporting teaching activities (e.g. the Bologna Winter School and the International Master programmes).
